I am back in Geneva after the conference, and discovering the controversy over the so-called pirating of the event by politics.
As one of the « web3 » sponsors with «SKY-click», I wanted to affirm in this post that we are very satisfied by our choice, despite the criticism.
The event offered maximal visibility, and the contacts we made were of the highest quality. But I wanted to elevate the debate somewhat by affirming that I am very deceived by the negative posts that I have read today, as if we suddenly fell back into the scope of traditional events where everything is programmed, without any surprises.
Where are the disruptions, the models we overthrow, the changes which shatter the established order, so dear to bloggers and Web 2.0?
Why react so violently against politicians in the web3 debates and in the new world we have the privilege to be building? Loïc is a good fortune today, he will probably represent YOU in France to these politicians to help them build a world which will be more favourable to company creation, and more open to employment through the Internet and its incredible advantages.
Like Nicolas Hulot preaching ecology, Loïc is preaching Internetization to political powers by inviting Nicolas Sarkozy, Ségolène Royal and the luminary François Bayrou. Should we hold it against him for maybe thinking about a political career, for changing the program at the last minute? Surely not.
The ethics of the event were respected, Loïc just wanted to surprise us, offer us a great pleasure, and to let us discover important men, men and women who will build the outline of the new world… Thank you for this slice of live history.
