The Internet brought a new dimension to the term « media » by making it accessible to everyone, by allowing users themselves to create new media platforms such as virtual territories, or by enriching them with collective intelligence like Twitter.
The number 1 media in the world is, however, not the one that we would think…..it’s not the mobile phone, or the television; it’s sales receipts, which go way beyond all of the other medias in terms of diffusion, attention and targeting.
The mobile phone is far ahead of other media, but sales receipts blow away the mobile market (3.3 trillion subscribers)
Billions of views circulate each day in all countries all over the world, during the smallest purchase and smallest payment by credit card. Attention is maximum and repetitive: verifying before paying, keeping the ticket preciously for an exchange or a problem with the product, then filing for the management of expenses, verification of spending, notably for credit cards, UNBEATABLE. Couponing, targeted offers, rebates, bar codes for mobiles, etc…as many opportunities to turn down as attractive promotional offers, non-intrusive and high performance.
Sales receipts have one default, which is that they are not interactive, and yet….I have prepared an Executive Summary and a patent which resolve the technical problems linked to sales receipt print rolls, the interactivity and the commercialization that will enable a revolution in local advertising, the heart of this concept’s target.
Several companies already propose solutions on this media and have done so for a long time without success because their business model is traditionally dependent on big distributers.
